Astrid Lindgrens World, Katthult
In autumn 2012/spring 2013 a new play environment, Katthult, was constructed at Astrid Lindgren’s World theme park in Vimmerby to mark the 50th birthday of Emil Svensson, the famous ‘Emil of Lönneberga’.
The new facility covers a total of 1450 m2 and comprises the Stadsmästargården restaurant with seating for 400 guests, the ‘Play Barn’ with its café and play area, and workshop with staff area. There are also around 15 play buildings on the site with varying levels of technical content, and Lake Katthult. The brief for these technical installations is that they should ‘work without being seen’.
